Garth has over 22 years of experience in operational, managerial and consulting roles in aviation, defence and resources sectors, both in Australia and internationally. During his career, Garth has been integrally involved with successful billion-dollar cost reduction initiatives, implementing sustainable operational cost-saving programs, growing significant new global market share for key clients and optimising delivery programs for successful start-ups.
With postgraduate qualifications in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain & Logistics Management complemented by Aeronautical-Mechanical Engineering certifications, Garth has a unique methodology for understanding supply chain opportunities.
Spotting a niche in the market Garth, Wayne and Wendy began Valenhold in 2015, delivering unique solutions to the mining, civil, infrastructure and renewables industries by bridging the gap between high-quality, low-cost country manufacturers and skilled Australian service companies.
Wayne is Co-Founder and current Chairman of Valenhold and has more than 20 years of experience across multiple industries including traditional Investment Banking & Stockbroking, Digital Assets as well as Mining Services. Previously, Wayne was CEO of OSL, a USD1bn regulated Digital Asset firm listed in Hong Kong and has also held several other senior roles in major financial institutions, including CEO of Octagon Strategy and as an Executive Director/Business Head at Morgan Stanley and Macquarie bank. Wayne also co-founded Aspir, a diversified mineral processing technology and equipment supplier in Australia, which was acquired by the Weir Group in 2013.
Wayne holds an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, a Bachelor of Business Management and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance from the University of Queensland and is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. As a long-time investor in traditional and digital assets, Wayne is highly respected for his insights on the evolution of financial markets and has regularly appeared as a commentator on numerous news outlets including Bloomberg Television, CNBC and CNN.
Wendy has over 20 years of working experience in the mining and manufacturing industry and has accumulated rich management experience in marketing, business development, project implementation and delivery. With an MBA and Master of Economics, Wendy has an in-depth understanding of supply and demand markets and always works from a strategic level to analyse issues and deliver targeted solutions for her customers.
Supporting the leadership team to grow Valenhold’s business, Wendy’s key role is leading the Asia team based in Beijing P.R.China. This team secures on-time delivery, optimises procurement, builds strategic partnerships with high-quality, low-cost manufacturers and helps them grow their overseas business. During her career, Wendy has successfully helped several manufacturers in various industries to grow their business by exporting their products to Australia, the United States, Southeast Asia and other countries.
Scott has an extensive experience in Aviation, Mining and Rail. Across Australia and internationally, he has excelled in key roles within large-scale operational projects, leading change initiatives and providing solutions to highly complex business challenges. Scott has served 13 years in the Australian Army, working on multiple rotary-wing aircraft and UAV’s. In 2015 he relocated to Canada, working for Bombardier, delivering operational solutions that enabled the company to achieve efficiencies and elevate performances within first of type and sustained manufacturing builds.
His industry expertise and ability to navigate global organisation cultural nuances have built strong personal relationships with suppliers and clients. For the past four years, and now as Valenhold’s General Manager, Scott has successfully demonstrated his ability to achieve sustainable business growth in the face of changing markets.
Reece has more than 20 years experience spanning Australia, Asia, UK and Africa. His expertise in the commercial arena within mining, construction, energy and government sectors has centred around general management, transformation contracts and procurement. His broad experience provides Valenhold with a sound platform to perform globally with particular reference to the energy and resources sectors and brings a valuable network to the business.
Paul’s role as Division Manager within Valenhold leverages his wealth of experience in maintenance management. Having spent over 21 years in Defence Aviation, Paul managed small to large technical maintenance teams in Australia and abroad. He effectively blends his open communication style with a proactive approach to complex problem solving, ensuring “on-time” deadlines are met with no shortcuts in processes and zero lapses in quality.
Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in Organisational Leadership from UNE, a higher national Diploma in Avionics Maintenance Technology from RMIT, and an Associate Fellowship and Chartered Engineering Associate from Engineers Australia. Due to his professionalism, sound decision making and strong commercial relationship building, he has been awarded several commendations, including an Australia Day Medallion.
